RESUME
L'évolution des sociétés africaines fortement influencées par les références du monde occidental laisse entrevoir de nos jours un malaise sociétal. Celui-ci se ressent notamment dans les nouveaux modes de comportement des jeunes dans lesquels on observe une rupture d'avec le respect des normes et valeurs traditionnelles qui jadis régulaient l'existence au quotidien. Devant cette réalité, la psychologie plus que toute autre science, se doit de mener et d'éclairer le débat sur le déplacement des normes afin de comprendre les processus d'évolution de ce phénomène; Notre recherche porte sur le processus d'internalisation de la notion de limite chez les enfants et adolescents camerounais peul et beti âgés de 9 à 18 ans. Par limite, nous entendons les indicateurs sociaux et moraux que la société propose à ces sujets et la visée de notre étude consiste notamment à l'évaluation de la capacité personnelle de ces jeunes à intégrer et à adapter ces limites ou à les transgresser. Notre question de recherche était la suivante : "Quels sont les facteurs différenciateurs qui contribuent à la compréhension du processus d'internalisation de la notion de limite chez les enfants et adolescents peul et beti au Cameroun ? Pour répondre à cette interrogation, nous avons constitué un échantillon de 240 sujet dont 120 sont de culture peul et autant de culture beti que nous avons au préalable répartis en trois tranches d'âge. Nous avons utilisé deux outils d'investigation : un questionnaire biographique et dix historiettes à dilemmes moraux. Ce sont les justificatifs des réponses fournies par nos sujets aux différentes historiettes qui ont constitué le matériau de base de notre analyse.

ABSTRACT
Moral development and internalization of concept of « limit » by the Peul and Beti children and adolescents from 9 to 18 within the Cameroonian socio-cultural contexte : a comparative approach
The evolution of African societies has nowadays led to a social incomfort as they are deeply influenced by the western world references. This incomfort can notably be felt on the youths who, in their new patterns of behaviors, shrug off the traditional standards and values that used to govern social existence on a daily basis. This reality of fact has therefore prompted psychology, more than any other science, to lead the debate the evolution of norms in a bid to shed some light on the mecanisms of this evolving phenomenon in relation to individuals’ behaviors.
Based upon a developmental and comparative approach, the present study aims at examining the way the concept of “limits” is internalized among Peul and Beti children and adolescents aged from 9 to 18. In our sense, the concept of “limit” is to be understood as social and moral indicators set by the society and imposed upon its members and the objective of this study consists in appraising their personal abilities in integrating and adjusting to these limits.
The justifications of the answers brought by our children ot the various short stories have enabled u tou have e deeper insght into their socio-cultural environment, and as such, have been the bolster of our investigation, which relvolved aroud the following question; “Which are the differentiating factors that are instrumental in impressing the concept of “limit” upon Peul and Beti children and adolescents in Cameroon?” We have, in order to answer this question, made up sample consisting of 240 items, equally distributed between Peul (120 items) and Beti (120 items) and in 3 age groups. This sample was examined by the means of tools entailing a biographical questionnaire and ten (10) short stories with moral dilemmas.
